Don’t It Make My Brown Eyes Blue

Obviously I was listening to the local oldies station while painting this one… where else are you going to hear a Crystal Gayle song?  While it’s possible I do have a Crystal Gayle cassette tape, all my cassettes are in a box.  Somewhere.  Probably in the garage.  (And they’ll make a fine addition to the chorus’ garage sale next year, if I ever find them.)

The more I look at this one, the stranger and creepier it gets… except for the little star-like things towards the bottom.  I’m going to stop looking at it now.

Oh, I love it. To me, it’s a rainy window . . . looking out on an alien blue world. (And thanks for putting that song in my head!)

And I seem to be giving a lot of people ear worms lately!

It’s really embarrassing to have an oldies station on and have to explain to your 13 year old nephew why you are getting all teared up about a song that sounds pretty dorky to him. :D

@Laura… I’ve been fortunate that most of young people in my life like the oldies as much as I do!

@Beamer… When I first heard the term ‘ear worm’, I thought of that nasty thing Kahn dropped in Chekov’s ear in The Wrath of Kahn. I later discovered it’s a translation of a German word, and it just means that a song is stuck in your head.

Yeah, that blue thingy is kind of cool… in a slightly creepy way. LOL
