It reminds me of lying out in the yard when I was young with my brother and the kid next door making up ever more outrageous stories about what was in the clouds. I had yet to become obsessed with aliens, so the neighbor kids usually won the game.

I’m seeing dancing creatures (gnomes and fairies and even a satyr) and tiny alien (aliens! I win!) dirigibles, one of which is shooting its plasma cannon. How about you?

This reminds me of a topographic map. Sort of. Topographic maps aren’t usually this colorful, but you never know what a topo will look like from an alien world, eh? There are fields of different odd plants, some watery bits, a leftover glacier and the dark spot in the upper center is a volcano.

What? Too weird? Ok, then… what do you see?

This is a Thanksgiving piece. What I see here is a highway stretching off into the distance, trees on the left and mountains on the right. Up ahead is a tunnel. I’m pretending it’s the Eisenhower Tunnel on Interstate 70 west of Denver.

It’s a Thanksgiving piece because I think of Thanksgiving as a time of “going home,” a time to be with families.

I decided to take a little break over the Thanksgiving weekend, but want to acknowledge what I’m thankful for:

Family… my sibs and their spouses and kids, Mr. Aerten and his parents and sib (and said sib’s spouse and kids), The Offspring and The Angel

Friends… from the ones I’ve known since we were in kindergarten to the ones I continue to discover every day, both in 3D and online

Abundance… while not perfect, I have my health; while not “wealthy,” I have what I need; and I have an abundance of joy and love in my life

You… the folks who come here to look at my art, and sometimes comment. You make it so much more fun to do this!

Don’t forget to count your blessings during the holidays that are going on between now and the end of the year. And just to make them a little more fun, I’ll post all those I know about. Feel free to tell me about any I may miss over the course of the coming month.

I see an atypical farmhouse beyond the ridge; it looks vaguely Japanese in style. In the foreground, there’s a just-picked radish or turnip or something. What does it mean that everything has taken on a green tint? Is there a tornado heading towards that little farmhouse? Should the veggie picker be concerned?

Shouldn’t you be telling me you want to buy this for your favorite coworker for Christmas?
