When I use most of the blue encaustic paints, I tend to think of the resulting paintings as views from under the sea… rather than pictures of alien worlds. But I suppose the oceans could be considered alien worlds, couldn’t they? People don’t go down there much, and even if they do, they need specialized environmental suits. The geography under the water is pretty strange and the creatures down there are downright phantasmagorical.
