The River Styx

This is the latest painting in my Etsy store.  It’s another of my encaustic paintings.

Perhaps this is what Orpheus saw when he went searching for Euridice.  This might have been the scene that awaited Heracles when he went on his quest to the Underworld to fetch back Cerebus.  (By the way, I’ve got a painting a painting of Cerebus, too, around here somewhere.)

But what do you see in the painting? And couldn’t you just see this colorful item hanging on your wall?  Of course you could!  Go visit the Etsy store… and this (or any other piece of art) could be in your home inside a week!

    Full sized, it almost looks like some mountain range shot from space. Smaller, it almost resembles some rich fabric.

    @Anshul… thanks for stopping by!

    @Beamer… oooh, fabric! Yeah, a blouse made out of this would look excellent! Unfortunately, the best I could do would be t-shirts and shoes on Zazzle.

    @Pat… encaustics are so addictive, I have to ration the fun I have with them! LOL

    It looks strangely organic like something out of a Cthulhu mythos novel.
