Desert Dawn

As with all of the encaustic painting, I wasn’t trying to make this look like anything in particular.  But after staring at the rocky, sandy, crumbly bits in the foreground and the dune-like bits in the distance, I thought I’d see about adding some vegetation bits.  They’re probably alien plants because they don’t look like anything I’ve seen in any terrestrial deserts.

And then there’s the buzzard or pterodactyl or Transformer flying along minding it’s own business… it’s a little eerie.
